How did I get started sweepstaking?
I started off with Contest Newsletter over 17 years ago. After about three months, I won over $600 worth of games and a couple of small prizes and I was hooked.
Shortly after that I won a trip to Vegas From Camel. I had one vacation day and no one I ask would trade a day with me. My Husband had just got on at the post office and could not go so I ended up having to turn it down. That was very dissapointing. They did how ever let me keep the $250 that came with it. Some of the best prizes are for events such as concerts or football games. But these have specific dates. Or sometime you may get notified that you won and have to go on the trip within two to three weeks and just can not take off on such short notice. Things change at work. Things change at home. These things happen. As long as you don't give up you will keep winning.
Prizes that I have won?
One was to make a scene with a soap star at the woodland Mall. I got to play Drucilla and tell Neal to put out the trash. That was fun. We ate brunch and took pictures. I took my younger Sister. My first big win was a $10,000 trip from Schick. It was a 5-day trip for 4 in Malibu Beach, CA with a $5,000 shopping spree. Since there was 4 in my family. I ask them to keep $500 so our youngest son who was 4 at the time could go. They mistake we made since we were not used to traveling was taking cash instead of putting some on our credit card. There was a car rental company accross the street from the hotel but since we did not have $300 on a credit card we could not rent a car. We had to take a cab to Universal studios. $40 on the way there and $30 on the way back using a different taxi company.
When you win a trip at the hotel, you will still be asked for a credit card in case you rent movies or use the bar in your room so it is best to have at least $200 on a card when you get there. For the next 4 years my youngest son always asked when are we going back to California. I have not been able to take him back yet. But he graduates this year and I am going to try to make that happen. Other wins include ESSENCE Music Festival tickets for 3 days floor seats. He did go with me the first two night and enjoyed himself. He got to see LL Cool J.
I played golf with Stewart Cink in GA. They picked me up from home at 3 am in a town car and drove me to the airport almost 2 hours away. After I arrive in GA a town car took me to the Hotel where I met with the Nike and Sports Authority managers. I took pictures under the huge Christmas tree at the hotel. They drove me every where I needed to go and we all ate together I did not have to pay a thing. I played Golf with Stewart the Nike manager and Stewarts friend Chad who ran they golf course. They were all so nice. Stewart bought us brunch and he and Chad kept saying that I played really well. They wear very nice and down to earth. They fitted me with head to toe Nike gear and clubs. It was all first class.
I have also won TV’s, Bar-B-Q pits, 100,000 airline miles, 500,000 airline miles. I used the miles to take a Disney trip I could never win, Trip for 2 to Kentucky Derby and Vegas trip for 4 people and $600 for each person. Also I trip to Vegas for 4 days that came with 4 $600 mastercards one for each of us . It was fantastic. I took my Mom younger Sister and oldest son. There were shopping outlets there and my Mom loves to shop. She really enjoyed herself. It felt good to take them on a nice trip. Makes for some really great memories. I won a 4-day trip for 2 to see two Shift concerts, one night in New York City immediately followed by two night in Los Angeles at the W motel. Nice. Other wins include several computers, bikes, iPods, Xboxes, gift certificates-cards, signed footballs, helmets, model cars, jerseys, caps, movie tickets, T-shirts, and games. From Coke, Pepsi, Taco Bell and several tickets to rodeos and football games.
I got to kick on the Houston Texans field twice. That is something that you can not buy with cash. The first time was for an away game. Did not even get close. The second time was for a house. I did not win that either but it was fun. I also bowled with Texans players twice. The last time we also met took picture with the Cheerleaders also. My middle son was ball boy for Houston Rockets twice. Two younger kids were team captains for the Houston Texans. Won SeaWorld tickets with $500 a night rooms from Pepsi at the The Westin La Cantera Resort in San Antonio. They were working on building a Mall and gold course when we where there. I have also won $250 Ticketmaster gift card, Sears mattress, DVDs and movie posters. I won a 1-yr. supply of diet coke and hersheys candy. online I won a $500.00 Chevron Gift Card; one $300 Hotel Gift Card and one $175 Digital Video Camera. Everything I would need for a road trip. That really came in handy. I am so grateful to all of the sponsors that make this possible. I can take my family to places that I would never have been able to take them otherwise. It is really something when money is really tight and I get a gift card in the mail out of the blue when I need it the most.
You have to be in it to win it. So many people say I never win. Then when asks do you enter and the answer is no. Too much work. I am not lucky and you are just lucky is what I hear. Also generates too much junk mail. I will take the junk mail for a $5,000-$10,000 trip of a life time. You can never win that way. Go to face book and go to the sweepstakes page and enter away. I like going to sweepstakes sites because some times when you search for alot of sweeps your computer may come in contact with a virus. Text message sweepstakes are really hot right now. I have won several great prizes using this method.
In order to win frequently you must enter often. Choose daily sweepstakes that you would love to when. Look for sweeps in your local grocery stores, newspapers and gas stations. Search in the area of your favorite products. And be sure to write a thank you note when you do win. Compile a list of online and mail in sweeps and remember to enter every day. You have to be patient. You may win after 1 month or it could take 9. A prize shows up when you least expect it. Join a sweepstakes club. The members will have alot of helpfull information. If you don't have a club in your area and have the time. Start a club. Members may live in several different towns. And can find sweeps that you can't. I have won from so many different sponsors and do use there products.
Try going to a sweepstakes convention. They are a ton of fun and I learn something new everytime I go. An there are so many nice people to meet that enjoy the same hobby. You learn about new ways to enter sweepstakes. The best sweepstakes to enter. They have guest speakers and give away alot of prize
